This award recognizes a licensed architect who has contributed to the profession and set an example in design, service and leadership to AIA Colorado, North Chapter.

Joseph Vigil has been working in the field of architecture since 1993 and became licensed in 2004. He is an expert in energy efficiency, NetZero energy and high-performance architecture. He completed the AIA+2030: Professional Training for the Sustainable Design Work Force in 2011. His design experience includes multifamily, commercial, and single-family residential. Joseph’s forward-thinking approach ensures projects with lasting appeal and comfort, while his construction trades background promotes efficient designs. His design work has been featured in print (Dwell, 5280, Builder, etc.) as well as on on television (“Design Outside the Box” and “World’s Greenest Homes”). He is currently working on a multifamily project for the Denver Housing Authority, and a custom home on a steep, Boulder lot for a couple in England.

Joseph believes that community service and providing leadership to the architectural industry are important components of being a good corporate citizen. To this end, he has served in multiple volunteer capacities including:
