This afternoon I’m sitting on my front stoop, sipping an Izzi and watching Emily, Melissa, Graham and Joseph design and construct a chair for this year’s CHAIRCUTERIE: an AIGA Colorado & Design Council event. It’s a beautiful day for putting on thinking caps and strapping on a tool belt. And look how cute they all are!
The 8-hour chair—as Emily has dubbed it—uses scrap materials from Jordan Woodworking and reclaimed climbing rope from Movement Climbing Gym. As I post this, they have 1 hour to go to actually get the work done in 8 hours. I’m not so sure they are going to make it.
