Alex Parulis

W8 team
architect / designer

Alex grew up on the New England shoreline surrounded by wooded forests and sandy beaches; he quickly developed a passion for adventure and the outdoors. His interest in architecture began in high school, where he enrolled in several drawing, computer modeling, and engineering courses. He realized that architecture was the perfect marriage between artistry and engineering, so he went on to attend the Roger Williams University School of Architecture, Art, and Historic Preservation in Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Science, Master of Architecture, and Minor in Engineering.

During that time he consistently competed on a top ranked Division III Cross Country and team and later acted as an assistant coach during his final year in the school’s Masters program. Alex studied abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy and grew a deeper appreciation for artistry and classical architecture. Upon defending his Masters thesis project, he went on to work for Hutker Architects where he had spent several summers as an intern. Located on the island of Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Cape Cod, he took a boat to work every day to help design custom homes. Alex eventually started looking for his next adventure and decided to relocate to Colorado as a newly licensed architect. Trading the ocean for the mountains, he continues to do all the things he loves such as running, mountain biking, snowboarding, and of course practicing architecture.
