W8 UPDATE / 8 August 2012
It’s 8/8 today–a very special day for WORKSHOP8 indeed–so what better day to share our brand new, professional photos of the Paisano Green Community in El Paso Texas. ENJOY
PAISANO GREEN COMMUNITY RESIDENTS’ BUILDING, AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS THE “JEWEL BOX”. STILL WAITING FOR SOME ROOF PANELS, BUT STRIKING NONE THE LESS.
VIEW DOWN THE “TAPESTRY GARDEN” WITH THE TOWNHOMES ON THE LEFT AND THE FLATS BUILDINGS ON THE RIGHT.
VIEW UP THE TAPESTRY GARDEN TOWARDS THE JEWEL BOX. . . AND YOU CAN SEE THE WIND TURBINE ABOVE THE ROOFS OF THE FLATS BUILDINGS.
EVENING SHOT OF THE FLATS BUILDINGS WITH THE “CANOPY WALL” IN THE BACKGROUND. NOTICE THE REALLY BRIGHT LIGHT ABOVE THE CANOPY WALL, THAT’S ONE OF THE LIGHTS AT THE TRUCK BORDER CROSSING STATION.
PAISANO GREEN COMMUNITY, EL PASO TX — Housing Authority of the City of El Paso
I am so excited to share the first professional photos of the Paisano Green Community by Jesse Ramerez Commercial Photography. Although the general contractor is still putting the finishing touches on the project, we were under the gun to have the project photographed this month for the January issue of Green Building and Design Magazine. Can you believe this is senior housing. . . this is the kind of place I hope to live in as a senior.
By the way, did you know that this project would not have been possible (and WORKSHOP8 would not exist) without the ARRA grant HACEP received from HUD? ARRA funding was established by the Recovery Act which was passed on February 13th 2009 by Congress at the urging of President Obama. Thanks Barack.
