чему я научилась ат  WORKSHOP8

What I learned at WORKSHOP8

In May 2018 I came to WORKSHOP8 to gain experience working as an architectural designer. Knowing it would be a short summer before the first year for my Master’s program would begin, WORKSHOP8 welcomed me with open arms and put me right to work. I like to think that WORKSHOP8 and I held a mutually beneficial relationship; I introduced them to Russian language and babka cake and from them I learned these lessons:

Design Never Stops

It is important to know when to stop and move forward, because design is endless. Knowing when to stop, pat yourself on the back, and move forward ensures a long life for a designer.

Site Visits = Game Changers

I’ve been working on creating the As-Built drawings for the historical Olin Apartments, site unseen. When I went to visit the building and created relationships with its residents I came back to the studio feeling inspired, confident, and had a better handle on the vision for the building.

Codes, Codes, and Codes

Architects can pretend they are in control all they want , but IBC is the boss, man.

Late Nights are Necessary – Sometimes

Once in a while, working into the evening hours is normal. Just make sure you like the company of your coworkers and then it isn’t so bad.

Why I Love WORKSHOP8

Work Feels Like Family

On Fridays’ We Drink Chai

Or Sometimes its Cocktails on the Porch

Puppy Love is Encouraged
Thank you!

Thank you WORKSHOP8 for the wonderful opportunity and learning experience. Yes I will start my Fall semester on Monday but guys, remember…I’m not going anywhere!

Love,
