AN UPDATE ON THE OLIN HOTEL APARTMENTS
Its been a little while since we shared progress photos of the Olin Hotel Apartments – a 112 unit senior living rehab in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. WORKSHOP8, Senior Housing Options, Medici Communities, Palace Construction and many other team members have been working hard on this project since 2018, and we’re excited to see residents settling back into their apartments.
For more information on this project, check out our portfolio page and blog.
EXTERIOR COURTYARD
The courtyard is now open for residents after fresh concrete was poured and exterior lighting installed. All exterior windows have been replaced to enhance the building’s energy efficiency, as well as all air conditioners in the units.
LOBBY
We expanded the lobby by removing an existing unit and storage closet, and increasing the ceiling height. Three new offices have been added, as well as a fireplace and coffee bar for residence to enjoy.
DINING ROOM
A new mechanical system was installed in the dining room along with new flooring, windows, lighting and acoustic ceiling tile. The new black and white tile replaces older tile which served as a dance floor.
INTERIOR UNITS
Almost all of the 112 units in this project are complete. The kitchen and bathrooms were renovated and made ADA friendly. For this particular unit, we decided to leave the brick exposed which shows a little history of the building.
THE 5TH FLOOR
Much of the work left is on the 5th floor, where we are installing a wheelchair lift, new mechanical system, two stairways, and 7 additional units. We also increased the ceiling height. Check out this before and after picture.
WRAPPING UP
Residents have been staying in place throughout the duration of construction, but have began moving back into their newly renovated apartments. We are so excited for them to be nesting in their upgraded space! We’ll share more Olin photos once the project is officially complete.
