Our Stories.
Today we are celebrating our favorite holiday: 8/8 International WORKSHOP8 Day.
Yes… it’s self-proclaimed. Yes… we made it up. And YES — we will absolutely celebrate it every year.
For 8/8/25, we took the office dogs on a sunny stroll to our favorite local bakery for flaky croissants and strong coffee. Because nothing says design excellence like buttery carbs and wagging tails.
This blog covers our social media posts from July 9 to August 8, and they were anything but ordinary. Posts included coverage of site walks at Jacoby Meadows and StarRise in June and July, an announcement about how Brandy got a little internet-famous, another 8 spotting in the wild, and an imagined image one of our very own as an architecture-octopus hybrid (trust us, it makes sense).

Work.
Jacoby Meadows | Windsor : Progress is popping!
Designed by WORKSHOP8 for the all-volunteer Windsor Housing Authority, with support from the Loveland Housing Authority. Built by Pinkard Construction.
Check out these shots from Marcel’s June 18th and July 2nd site visits.
From painted siding to local sandstone, textures are coming alive at Jacoby Meadows. Marcel even got a peek at the elevator installation—complete with a dizzying look down the shaft. Accessibility in action!
StarRise | Greeley : Stars are aligning!
Designed by WORKSHOP8, developed by High Plains Housing, and built by KCI Construction.
Site walks on June 12, June 28, and July 10 revealed StarRise at North Weld Village coming to life — with bold railings, vivid paint, and custom lighting shining across this permanent supportive housing project. The adaptive reuse of a former onion processing facility is nearly complete, blending old bones with new construction to create dignified, service-enriched homes.
From crisp textures to patterned panels that nod to the project’s name, the team is lighting up Greeley — one star at a time.
The Team.
SHOUTOUT TO OUR CEO — Hey, that’s me!
Apparently, I’m a lot of things — designer, performer, creative director, and the self-proclaimed CEO of WORKSHOP8 (and no one’s arguing). In this feature by Shoutout Colorado, I share the story of how WORKSHOP8 grew from a kitchen table idea into a thriving architecture studio — with plenty of love, legacy, design, and mischief along the way.
Just For Fun.
IMAGINE ELENA AS AN OCTOPUS
She’s got eight arms to keep your project on track.
Archicad drawings? Covered.
Construction site walk? On it.
Client meeting, code check, submittal tracking? Done.
Elena’s is juggling everything at once — now just imagine if she actually had eight limbs.
Wild 8s.
8s in the WILD from Yokohama, Japan!
Photographed by Joseph Vigil at Shinko Berth 8 — right near the birthplace of my grandmother. Keep your eyes peeled for eights in the wild and share them with us!
