Stanley Marketplace
it’s getting there
September 29th marks my two year anniversary date with WORKSHOP8 and I’ve been working on the Stanley Marketplace since my first day. I’ve had the honor of serving as the project and production manager, but it has been a real team effort. It’s been under construction for over a year, but it is rapidly nearing completion. I am VERY excited about this and expect you all to come have a beer with us to celebrate when it’s done!
Don’t worry, the big, awesome sign will be reinstalled once it’s finished being refurbished.
Exploring structural steel colors for the entries with Chelsea.
Finding the perfect gray is demanding work.
Almost there, right?? Just squint and use your imagination. Or wait a month until it opens in October!
If you want a sneak peak you can check out the Cherry Creek Arts Festival being held at Stanley September 16th to the 18th.
This is the hoist assembly for the elevator, let’s hope these cables will hold all the people bringing Cheluna beers up to the observation deck.
Big spaces call for big ducts!
From concept to reality. The sepia-toned cloud tile mural is installed in the “in-flight” restroom near the event space.
Chelsea designed some rad hallway graphics and bathrooms. Check out the adorable family bathroom!
The occupied sign lets you know when the family restroom is in use. . . makes you think of an airplane doesn’t it?
Brandy submitted a mural concept for Clinton Street which included historic references to Stanley Aviation, manufacturing, and Bob Stanley, but another artist won the commission. You can see photos on the Stanley Facebook page.
I am stoked to be a part of the big Stanley Family. Back in July, this project won the Denver Business Journal’s Top Adaptive Use Project Award, and Joseph and I got to be there.
