Originally from Virginia, Maris moved to Boulder to be closer to the mountains and her family. Having been raised on southern hospitality, she began a career path in event planning; creating hospitable and inviting environments for guests to enjoy is her greatest joy. Seeking to pursue an education in design, she came to WORKSHOP8 to learn the realities of sustainable renovations and new design. Prior to WORKSHOP8, Maris worked for SkiTravel, coordinating ski trips to Mont-Tremblant, Canada, and Savory Cuisines Catering as an office and event assistant.
Maris graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor’s in communication and a minor in urban geography. Having come from a sprawling suburban area in Northern Virginia, she is drawn towards studying sustainable urban development with an emphasis on land conservation. Maris’s favorite hobby is to repurpose old, worn out furniture items into beautiful decor for the home. She loves to garden, attend yoga classes, and take scenic drives through remote places.
As a part of the WORKSHOP8 team, Maris assists with marketing and social media, communications, business development, project administration, and human resources.
