Comprising 92 units, including both one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats, alongside the inclusion of the DECATUR FRESH food market, it embodies a multifaceted approach to community development. One of the distinctive features of Gateway South lies in its architectural design, which pays homage to the historical elements that characterize the neighborhood. By integrating materials that have a historical significance to the area, the architectural aesthetic not only resonates with the past but also contributes to a sense of continuity and identity within the community. Moreover, the incorporation of a vertical diversity of materials serves to mitigate the visual impact of the six-story structures, fostering a more intimate and human-scale experience for residents and visitors alike. This deliberate choice in design helps to break down the imposing scale of the buildings, fostering a sense of warmth and accessibility within the urban landscape. Another notable aspect of Gateway South is the integration of lit-art, design by Brandy LeMae and fabricated by 3FORM, which serves as a striking focal point within the development. By leveraging artistic illumination, the project creates a visually dynamic environment that adds a layer of vibrancy and cultural richness to the community fabric.
