A comprehensive renovation transformed The Overlook at Thornton. Interiors received modern fixtures, finishes, and fully revised bathrooms and kitchens. New windows for better natural light and energy efficiency. The outdated metal stairs were replaced and a sleek stucco facades each with an identifying color and building icon for create a sense of place for each building. Upgraded laundry rooms and new signage and lighting improves the resident experience. Meaningful outdoor spaces and a stunning 5,000 sq ft clubhouse with a pool replaced the outdated amenities.
Exterior work included new stairs, removal of existing stair “screening” and new raised roofs above wide stairwells creates a safer and more inviting entry for residents. New shingles, exterior siding, brick repair and staining on all buildings as well as new doors and windows. Each building features an accent color and icon to assist in way-finding and branding and to enliven the resident experience across the site.
Interior scope of work includes the reconfiguration of eight units for accessibility as well as interior bathroom (1&3-Bed) and kitchen (3-Bed) reconfigurations to create more livable units. All unit interiors updated with modern fixtures and finishes. Laundry rooms in each building will also be updated along with new branding, signage and lighting.
WORKSHOP8 provided architecture, interior design, environmental graphic design, and contract administration in-house. Subconsultants included: civil, landscape, MEP, energy and structural engineering.
