No, not “Mowhawk Validation Person” or “Motor Vehicle Producer”, although fitting. Today marks the 4th year anniversary for Marcel, Vice President of WORKSHOP8! In celebration of his start date, let’s look back to celebrate his first day on the job here with WORKSHOP8.
Project Manager
Marcel is an integral member of the team serving as Drawing Manager for several of our projects including:
1. The Stanley Marketplace
Marcel’s first project with WORKSHOP8. Since its completion in 2016, the Stanley has been honored with Historic Denver’s 2017 Community Preservation Award and the 2017 AIA Honor Award.
2. Fall River
A new build project in Longmont which broke ground this past July 2018.
3. Sierra Vista
A rehabilitation project expected to be complete by November 2018!
4. Sunvalley Gateway North and South
A new build design project on the drawing board.

Marcel won “Best Costume” at The Catamounts 2018 “Into the Woods” fundraiser!
Vice President
- continue to realize WORKSHOP8’s great designs;
- collaborate with consultants to prepare clean, coordinated drawing sets;
- provide clear and concise communication with builders and see projects to fruition;
- complete his Architect Registration Examinations (AREs);
- help grow the company through business development efforts; and
- continue to mentor the next generation of W8 architects and designers and assist them in becoming leaders on their own projects.
Spare Time
As if he isn’t busy enough, Marcel serves as a motorcycle marshal for four or five races per year where he rides his motorcycle, Scarlett. As a course marshal he paves the way for cyclists and spectators, and ensures overall safety on the course (seriously, no pressure). This summer, he led the Tour of Utah and the Tour of Colorado.
Family Man
Marcel is the father of three grown children (William, Tejay, and Chaney), the husband of his beautiful wife, Monika, and a dog father of 3.

Fall is in the air and we are loving it! This month we got to complete our second mural in boulder (pics to come), and in October you can find us at the Month of Modern Launch Party as well as the 2018 AIA conference in Keystone in 3 weeks. We hope to see you there!
