Please help us welcome Chelsea Semelka to WORKSHOP8!
Born and raised on a vineyard on the shores of Lake Erie, Chelsea’s family instilled in her a love of the outdoors, passion for creativity, and appreciation of hard work.
Chelsea joined our team on December 1st. She is the newest member of our Interior Design Department and works closely with Kate and the architecture teams to fully integrate interior materials, colors and layouts into our projects.
Chelsea attended one of my dream schools, Rochester Institute of Technology, where she graduated with honors in 2011 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a minor in Art History. During school she was a Visual Intern at one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie where she got to create some of those really marvelous displays that the store is known for.
Before joining WORKSHOP8, Chelsea gained experience with commercial interiors and systems furniture at Sedgwick Business Interiors and Corporate Environments.
One of the things that Kate said about Chelsea after our interview is, “I really like the way she puts together color and pattern.”
Since becoming a member of the WORKSHOP8 team, she has been able to let her creativity fly and has been involved interior design for Mariposa Phase VI (The Aerie), Stanley Marketplace (as seen above).
Chelsea has a passion for all things creative; when she is not working her favorite thing to do is paint. Watercolors are currently her medium of choice, and she recently finished a watercolor animal alphabet book for a friend.
Besides design and art, her other love is the outdoors. You can frequently find her outside hiking, skiing, or rock climbing.
