Welcome Lyris and Patrick!
Meet the two new additions to the WORKSHOP8 team
WORKSHOP8 is growing! We’ve started on a couple really exciting new projects lately and decided we needed to expand our team and design firepower. Enter the two new members of our W8 squad, Lyris and Patrick!
Lyris
Lyris Sanchez graduated in May from the University of Colorado, Denver with her Master of Architecture degree. While interning at several firms in Denver during school, Lyris had the opportunity to work on several project types, including education (Swansea Elementary School shown below), multifamily, and a distillery!
Lyris is a proud Colorado native that loves to hike and explore–in any type of weather.
During the summer, she grows a zucchini garden that her cat also enjoys. Lyris has already made the office some delicious zucchini bread muffins and we hope she makes some more before zucchini season is over! (hint, hint)
After graduating in the spring, Lyris and her boyfriend traveled to Iceland, London, and Ireland. It was her first time going to Europe; Lyris says it was an eye-opening experience with the best coffee ever!
Patrick
Patrick Paden comes to us from Summit County, where he’s made quite an impact with his photography and non-profit work. He’s been shooting for Paden Designs Photography for over ten years.
Patrick was recognized by the Keystone Mountain Arts Gathering in 2011.
Patrick fits in with the cycling culture at WORKSHOP8; he’s been riding for over ten years and even sponsored his own team through Paden Designs Photography!
He enjoys spending his time exploring Colorado and has hiked over twenty 14ers in the past seven years.
In May, Patrick graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in Environmental Design. He lives in Boulder with his puppy, Sterling.

I’m writing this blog post from a tour bus, somewhere between the north woods of Wisconsin and Chicago, as I’m working remotely for four days while filling in for Trout Steak Revival‘s fiddle player. This morning I went for a run and found a hodag! Hodags are locally celebrated mythical creatures spawned from the imaginations of lumberjacks of northern Wisconsin that eat only white bulldogs. (I am not making this up.) I’m enjoying traveling around the midwest and playing rockstar for a few days, but am looking forward to being back in the office with the newly-expanded W8 team on Monday morning!
