The best day of the year is here! (Although it feels like March the 143rd since the studio set up satellite offices at home due to COVID-19). Nonetheless, as we celebrate another turn around the sun I wanted to bring you up to speed with the goings-on at our studio over the past 12 months.

A little history. . .
“International WORKSHOP8 Day” was officially established by a former Intern, Graham Bowman, in 2014, although in 2012 we recognized the power of double 8 when we published photos of Paisano Green Community. You can check out those historic posts below:

After weeks of fundraising to support the Boulder YWCA, I danced the night away with my coach Maren Waldman to the tune of “Always Be My Baby” by PostmoderJukebox featuring Aubrey Logan.
CYCLISTS 4 COMMUNITY
Joseph Vigil IV serves as the President of Cyclists 4 Community, an organization dedicated to making the roads safer for all cyclists. . . our kids, our friends, our spouses, our co-workers! This year he participated in the campaign video for #itcouldbeme on a call to action for road safety. We’re hopeful to see their 4th annual fundraiser held in October 2020. BUILT A TRIPLEX WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Exactly one year ago on 8/8, we volunteered 24 hands to help build a tri-plex in Boulder alongside the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity. It was decided that from now on every August 8th we will volunteer our time for a community-based project (see below for what this year entails)!

DONATED DESIGN FOR A CHILDREN’S PRESCHOOL LOFT
Our friends at the Children’s House Preschool in Boulder reached out for designs on a children’s play loft, and we couldn’t wait to tap back into our inner child to provide a creative structure.

In celebra8tion of International W8 Day 2020, we are painting a community mural in support of #itcouldbeme. We have lots of runners and cyclists in our studio, and we want them to be safe from vehicles when they are out getting their heart-rates up.
